Nabila Elme

Nabila Elme had always been enthusiastic about decks and mixers. Having been exposed to the art of DJ-ing through friends, she started experimenting on the turntables, learning by example and picking up the basic tricks. With her eclectic taste in music, ranging from the grooves of Jamiroquai to the punishing bass lines of Yoji Biomehanika, and the grunge edge of Weezer to the syncopated beats of Slam, it is undeniable that the load of influential sounds will only manifest her DJ-ing hobby into a serious interest. Always one who is driven to take her passion further, Nabila eventually began training under Excessive Records in 2006 to develop the technical aspects of DJ-ing. Though she first started out playing all things banging, from hard trance to hard style, her musical appreciation for other dance genres soon grew. She mastered her mixtape and entered the Pioneer DJ Battle '07 & '08, emerging as a semi-finalist, a finalist at Malaysian DJ Battle '08. She was awarded Best New DJ of The Year 08/09 in Choons Awards, Malaysia's First Dance Music Awards. Nabila's style of mixing has since evolved to incorporate deeper, progressive sounds which allows for possibilities and imagination to be endlessly played out. This is, without a doubt, a perfect complement to her other passion in filmmaking. It is certain that with so much creative energy inside, there's no stopping her to take both passion to equally thrilling heights.
